During the Saturday morning, we tried to find the Market Gardens, the location of the 'Tannot Fields' in the Season 1 episode "Thank god its Friday, Again" but Deb got lost :(
We finally got back to Moya and got introduced to the other fans..... suprised to find that XenaJules and StevePalmer came all the way from the States just for the BBQ!! thats one expensive feed! LOL!
After the intros we got back in the Transport Pods and Sue (WITGOB) was piloting Pod 2. We arrived at the Studios were Farscape was filmed, but since no one was there, cept 'John the Security Guard', we took photos of the "Farscape --->" sign and got 'John' to take some group Photos.
Next stop HomeBush Stadium, where they filmed "Won't get Fooled again". Passing the Stadium, there was a massive tangle of ripped up reinforced concrete, apparently part of the stadium was been torn down... anyway we had lunch nearby.
At the Fox Studios, we had a walk around.... the other ppl in the group went on some of the attractions, bought heaps of Farscape merchandise. Hideous prices for the action figures.... AU$37.95 for a "Mutant Aeryn" figure from "DNA Mad Scientist" from Kings Comics. Deb found out from the guy behind the counter that Wayne Pygram (Scorpius) was in there in the morning, buying up the Scorpy figures. She was so annoyed.
Later that day she was told by one of the Bouncers at the Pub/Hotel that he was mates with Wayne and would be comming, She was wrapt!!
The next morning a few of us got up early, to grab the BBQ site and begin to setup for day.
In the afternoon Jonathan Hardy, the voice of Rygel appeared and to everyone's suprise, Lani Tupu (Crais), Tammy Macintosh (Jool) & David Franklin (Braca) turned up too, along with Wayne Pgram (Scorpius). I was stoked!!
When Tammy saw my JOOL Tshirt, she squealed with joy and gave me a hug saying "Thats me! thats me!"
Sheldon was there too, he was the makeup artist for Tammy and such a nice guy.... got my pic taken with him too :) EXCELLENT!
But as another Scaper said they missed out on getting autograph from David until was about to leave and it was same with me.... I didn't even recognise him, with his sunnies on. But I did get pics and autographs from all the others. Someone else I didn't see is Dave Elsey the guy from the Creature Shop, some of his signed production photos were raffled off later. "Froonium Ricky", one of the executive producers also appeared but I didn't notice him untill we were packing up. Unfortunatly Ben didn't show up :( we even had his favorite drink, Diet Mountain Dew, on ice, waiting for him....
All the guests were given a TaScape 2002 tshirt. Unfortunatly the cast couldn't stay for very long, Wayne had to go off to band practice and Tammy wanted to stay and chat with us but Lani physically picked her up and dragged her away. LOL!. Meeting them was so cool and a bonus when they turned up and suprised us all!!
Before most of them left, the raffle was held, heaps of tickets were sold. They were $1 each, I got ten tickets. Two of the girls there bought $40 worth each. I was lucky to get a "Mutant Aeryn" figure. Brillant!
When we packed everything up, we returned to Moya with Ricky and Jonathan in tow and after dinner, we watched Episode 1 of the 3rd season with Ricky doing a live commentary while it was playing since he wrote the episode. How cool was that??
There's not much else to say.... I went back to Melbourne the next morning. I was so knackered when I finalled got home, aches and stiffness finally caught up with me and bad sunburn...... (NOTE TO SELF - BRING SUNSCREEN NEXT TIME :)
